IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN
Feeding the businesses and community of Oakland Chinatown
During the summer of 2020, we created and operated a food distribution hub in Chinatown. Working with World Central Kitchen, we channeled $2MILLION into over 20 restaurants to supply over 200,000+ free meals to Chinatown and the greater Oakland community, providing income to local businesses and food for our neighbors in need.

“The Road Back”
In a first-ever collaboration of Japanese American journalists for Rafu Shimpo, we are honored to represent Oakland in this five-part series! Our wonderful community of participants, volunteers, and organizers was interviewed for the story.
WCK Volunteer Spotlight
“I feel good when I help people, my whole life I never thought about it. When I got out, I help out whoever I can.”
After becoming incarcerated at the age of 17, Michael spent 23 years in prison. Now, Michael loves to volunteer in the community, and was critical in our WCK operations.
